2. The Da Vinci Code
This is the second book in the Robert Langdon Series and my favourite book in the series. The Da Vinci Code follows the story of Robert Langdon, a Harvard professor of symbology, who is summoned to the Louvre Museum in Paris to decipher a series of codes and symbols hidden within Leonardo da Vinci’s paintings.
This is my favourite Dan Brown Book to date. It was so fun to read. I would look up the images, places and everything mentioned hence a very visual experience for me.
The novel was a massive success, selling over 80 million copies worldwide and inspiring a film adaptation featuring Tom Hanks
1. Angels and Demons
This is the first book In the Robert Langdon series. Angels and Demons fattureing Robert Langdon as the main character is set in Rome, where he must solve a series of murders and a plot to destroy the Vatican.
Langdon as he is called to Rome to help the Italian police solve the murder of a physicist and prevent the theft of antimatter, a destructive weapon. Along the way, he uncovers a plot by an ancient secret society known as the Illuminati.
This book was also a bestseller and was adapted into a film where Tom Hanks Reprised his role as Landon.
3. The Lost Symbol
This book is set in Washington, D.C., and follows Langdon as he unravels a series of clues related to the Freemasons and their involvement in the founding of the United States. The Lost Symbol is the third instalment in the established Robert Langdon timeline, dealing with Landon’s race against time in Washington D.C., which purportedly hosts an ancient portal promising apotheosis.
The Lost Symbol was transformed into a television series that acts as a prequel in the franchise itself, featuring a younger Langdon. The show premiered on September 16, 2021, and is available for streaming on Peacock. However, this has been cancelled with no further season.
4. Inferno
Inferno follows Langdon as he wakes up in a hospital in Florence with no memory of how he got there and a mysterious tattoo on his body. He teams up with a woman named Sienna Brooks to solve a series of clues and puzzles related to Dante’s “Inferno as well as to uncover the mystery of the tattoo and prevent a global disaster. This book was also a bestseller and was adapted into a film. He teams up with a young doctor
5. Origin
Dan Brown’s Origin is a novel by Dan Brown, published in 2017. It features Robert Langdon, the protagonist of many of Brown’s other novels, as he becomes embroiled in a mystery surrounding the search for the ultimate answer to the question of human existence. The novel combines elements of science, religion, and art as Langdon travels to Spain and works with a billionaire futurist and a beautiful museum director to uncover the truth.
Like many of Brown’s other novels, “Origin” was a commercial and critical success, reaching #1 on the New York Times bestseller list and receiving positive reviews for its fast-paced plot and blend of scientific and philosophical concepts. It has also been optioned for a film adaptation.

While it is not necessary to read the Dan Brown”s Robert Landon Series in any particular order, as each story is independent from the others, some readers may prefer to read them chronologically. If you fall into this category and want to start with the first book featuring Langdon, I recommend beginning with “Angels & Demons.” This will allow you to follow the character’s journey in the order that it was intended. However, it is ultimately up to personal preference and you can choose to read the books in any order that you like.
