Editor’s Note #2 Reflections on 2022

By Deborah January 3, 2023

Reflections on 2022

As we reflect on the past year, it’s natural to think about the things that have happened and how we might have acted differently in certain situations.

Remember My resolution from last year:

”Resolutions; We laugh about them because we never stick to them anyways. However, I’ve got resolutions this year. The resolutions are in two bits.

To continually show kindness, and to be more intentional about things.“

As the year comes to an end, I have realized that I haven’t been very kind to myself. I have been so focused on being kind to everyone else that I neglected my own well-being. Unfortunately, this has not turned out well for me.

I have found myself constantly putting others’ needs before my own, and as a result, I have not received the same level of kindness in return. I have been taken advantage of and used by people who do not truly care about me. And even though I have been trying to be kind and support those around me, I have not received the same level of support in return.

This new year, I have resolved to be kinder to myself. I will prioritize my own needs and well-being, and not sacrifice myself for the sake of others. I will set boundaries and not allow myself to be taken advantage of.

Most importantly, I will surround myself with people who truly care about and support me.

By being kinder to myself, I hope to create a more positive and fulfilling life. I will no longer allow myself to be used by others and instead focus on building meaningful and supportive relationships.

2022 taught me that being kind to others does not always lead to receiving kindness in return. This year, I will prioritize my own well-being and surround myself with people who truly care about me.

Many people resolve to let go of the desire to seek revenge or retribution for perceived wrongs in the new year. As the saying goes, “An eye for an eye makes the world blind.”

In other words, if we all seek revenge against those who have wronged us, we will only end up causing more harm and creating a cycle of violence and aggression.

Instead of focusing on getting even with others, it’s important to let go of that desire and focus on moving forward in a positive way.

In the coming year, I resolve to turn a blind eye to things that are not of my concern and focus on the things that matter to me. I will strive to let go of any grudges or resentments that I may be holding onto and instead focus on forgiveness and understanding.

By letting go of the need for revenge and focusing on positivity and growth, I hope to create a better future for myself and for those around me that matter. Here’s to a new year and a fresh start!

With Love, Deborah
