Editor’s Note #1 – New Year, New Me.

By Deborah January 1, 2022

New Year, New Me

You know how the saying goes New year, New me. But is it really a new you. This is a debate as old as time.

As far as things are concerned, it’s just a new day, new dawn, and an opportunity for a fresh start.

I have a tradition where I take something sweet for the first time in the new year, to usher myself into a year filled with sweetness. I’m not going to lie, this was a tradition I held close to my heart and was consistent with for almost 10 years. I thought- “If I take something sweet first, everything will be sweet the whole year.”

Younger me just left it to all that. But now I’m older and I know better. I actually put in the work now. Not just taking sweet things to have a sweet year. But intentionally and consistently working to have a sweet life.

A new year is a chance to start afresh, with acquired knowledge and skills, it’s the opportunity to live the best life all over again.

It is not the time for drastic changes, rather it is time to make better choices. The new year brings much more than new opportunities and chances, It also gives you the chance to roll the dice again and face whatever the year brings.

Resolutions; We laugh about them because we never stick to them anyways. However, I’ve got resolutions this year. The resolutions are in two bits.

To continually show kindness, and to be more intentional about things.

This year I’m opening myself to more opportunities- to fail, get rejected, as well as acquire many wins.

With this affirmation, I usher you into this new year-

I believe in myself and my abilities. I am doing the best I can do every day.

Good luck to me and you all.

With Love, Deborah
