November 9 might be my favourite Coolen Hoover Book after It Ends With Us. And this is mainly because I liked the characters in this book at least most of them which is a great improvement from other books I didn’t like a single character in Verity and barely liked Rylee in “It Ends With Us” was just barely manageable.
However, I still found the book problematic in certain aspects.
The book’s premise of them meeting once every year was nice. The best books are the ones with a little bit of truth, and the fact that they lived the book made me like it more.
November 9 is a book about Loss, Acceptance, Growth, Forgiveness and maybe Redemption.
The big plot twist was indeed big, but not one I would have ever imagined.

Fallon meets Ben, an aspiring novelist, the day before her scheduled cross-country move. Their untimely attraction leads them to spend Fallon’s last day in L.A. together, and her eventful life becomes the creative inspiration Ben has always sought for his novel. Over time and amidst the various relationships and tribulations of their own separate lives, they continue to meet on the same date every year. Until one day Fallon becomes unsure if Ben has been telling her the truth or fabricating a perfect reality for the sake of the ultimate plot twist.
Can Ben’s relationship with Fallon—and simultaneously his novel—be considered a love story if it ends in heartbreak?
Beloved #1 New York Times bestselling author Colleen Hoover returns with an unforgettable love story between a writer and his unexpected muse.
November 9 Review:
Now technically I had some issues with this book but I am not going to dwell on that aspect like how he was in her booth and her fake boyfriend, or how he was with his dead brother’s ex-wife months later or how their insta love was not so believable I’ll stop here now.
These were there but really I just loved the story and I am a sucker for a good romance plus plot twist so that did it for me. I loved them meeting up each year and also how they fought and aimed to meet up in those years.
I loved catching up with them yearly to see what they had been up to. There were also the hard years the year Ben moved on and the year Fallon didn’t Show up.
To be honest I was upset that Ben had moved on and he just didn’t move on it had to be Jordan that was quite upsetting and I’m not sure I would have let that go easily if I were Fallon.
One thing to note is that I knew nothing about the characters or that Fallon would be scarred from a fire accident. Collen tried in her presentation but not enough, and I hold no writer responsible for educating and uplifting of burn victims but I wish she had done more for Fallon’s confidence. Even after almost 7 years, she was still struggling with it and there was no improvement or growth. In the 5 year period, Fallon is the same girl we met in page one I didn’t like that very much.
Ben, I wouldn’t say I liked it much, especially with that big reveal at the end I didn’t like that, and I wouldn’t have been able to let that go. And sometimes he was written to be romantic or some sort but he just came off as pushy. For someone with so much guilt, he wasn’t as remorseful as he should be to be very honest.
Generally, without picking it apart it is an okay book with a quite questionable storyline but a good and easy read.
